September 30 - October 1, San Francisco
The charm of San Francisco is emphasized by its location on the peninsula. The city is small: it occupies only 119 sq. km, and its population does not exceed 800 thousand people. This is one of the few cities in the US that has a pleasant view and is also well suited for walking.

Bridge Golden Gate (Golden Gate). Despite the fact that this bridge was built much later than the park of the same name, it is a symbol of San Francisco both for local residents and for the whole world.

Alcatraz. Prior to its closure in 1963, Alcatraz Rock served as a prison for the most hardened criminals.

Golden Gate Park. A 412-hectare park stretching across the western half of San Francisco is a 19th-century gardener's creation. John McLeran, who turned a nondescript sand dune into one of the finest urban parks in the world.

After visiting Golden Gate Park, we left San Francisco and headed to the next points of our journey.
We spent the night at our third hotel - Holiday Inn Express & Suites MERCED.

This hotel is located a few kilometers from the main entrance toYosemite National Park.
October 2, Yosemite Park
We spent the whole day inYosemite National Park.
The park has become one of the world's most famous wildlife sanctuaries, part of the world heritage. In the center of the park is a valley formed by glaciers, crossed by the Mercedes River and surrounded by majestic mountain peaks:
massive El Capitan (2271 m), the tallest granite monolith in the world;

Half Dome (Half Dome, 2653 m),its other half was destroyed by glaciers;

Ice Point (Glacier Point),on top of a rocky wall 960 m high.

In the center of the valley is the tallest waterfall in North America. Cascades Yosemite Falls with a total height of 739 m fall into the Merced River.

At the end of the day we left the park through the south gate and drove to our next hotel, the Piccadilly Inn Shaw Fresno.
